A Sign of the Times

The Israeli foundation that administers the Western Wall in Israel has launched an iPhone app called "iKotel" that streams live from the site around the clock (except on the Jewish sabbath and holidays, when transmissions are forbidden by Jewish law.)

The app allows users to send emails to be placed in the crevices of the old wall, a Jewish custom. It also includes a compass that allows users to pray in the direction of Jerusalem, another Jewish practice.

Michal Ophir of The Western Wall Heritage Foundation says the app "brings the Western Wall to every Jew in the world because it is the heart of the Jewish people." The wall is a remnant of the biblical Jewish Temple complex and is Judaism's holiest prayer site in the world.

Since Jesus Christ was a Jew, and I am His child, I am adopted in His family.

He's coming soon......

One Solitary Life - Jesus

He was born in an obscure village, the son of a peasant woman.

He grew up in another village, where he worked in a carpenter's shop until he was thirty. Then for three years he became a wandering preacher.

He never wrote a book. He never held an office. He never had a family or owned a house. He didn't go to college. He never visited a big city. He never travelled two hundred miles from the place where he was born. He did none of those things one usually associates with greatness.

He had no credentials but himself.

He was only thirty-three when the tide of public opinion turned against him. His friends ran away. He was turned over to his enemies and went through a mockery of a trial. He was executed by the state. While he was dying, his executioners gambled for his clothing, the only property he had on earth. When he was dead he was laid in a borrowed grave through the pity of a friend.

Twenty centuries have come and gone, and today he is the central figure of the human race and the leader of mankind's progress. All the armies that ever marched, all the navies that ever sailed, all the parliaments that ever sat, all the kings that ever reigned, put together, have not affected the life of man on this earth as much as that One Solitary Life.

JESUS CHRIST! We celebrate His birth today on Christmas. He's still alive! He still sets people free! He is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow! He can set you free too - just ask Him into your heart and He will save you from eternal hell and save you from a life of no peace here on earth! Just ask Him to take over your life and He will.

Jesus Christ

Mary, did you know
That your baby boy
Would someday walk on water?
Mary did you know
That your baby boy
Will save our sons and daughters?
Did you know
That your baby boy
Has come to make you new?
This child that you've delivered
Will soon deliver you.

Mary did you know
That your baby boy
Will give sight to a blind man?
Mary did you know
That your baby boy
Will calm the storm with his hand?
Did you know that your baby boy
Has walked where angels trod?
When you kiss your little baby
You've kissed the face of God.
The blind will see
The deaf will hear
The dead will live again
The lame will leap
The dumb will speak
The praises of the Lamb

Mary did you know
That your baby boy
Is Lord of all creation?
Mary did you know
That your baby boy
Will one day rule the nations?
Did you know
That your baby boy
Is heaven's perfect Lamb?
This sleeping child you're holding
Is the Great I Am

Lesson

Last week my pastor preached a sermon, "Obedience brings increase." As we obey God, we will grow more like Him. If you're wondering why you're standing still, you might not be acting on what God told you to do. You might not be obeying Him. This hit me particularly hard, since last week I felt the Lord prompting me to go pray for a young man that I did not know, but heard he had pneumonia in the hospital. When I learned he had died 2 days after I was prompted, I was so disappointed in myself. I don't know what would've happened if I had been obedient, but I know that I cannot get to the next level with my Father unless I obey Him. Such a difficult lesson to learn.

No fear

Yesterday a young man from my church sent me a Bible verse that he felt like God was telling him to give me. "For God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, love and a sound mind." It was a wonderful confirmation for me, as the Lord has been whispering this in my ear for a few weeks. So much of our lives are wasted on fear. And fear is the opposite of faith. And the Bible says that without faith, it is impossible to please God.

Let me also add, that we ARE supposed to have a fear of the Lord, a reverence for the Almighty God, a respect for our Creator. So I am not talking about that kind of fear. No, fear is lots of things, none of which are good or show faith. All of our worries - they just show that we are not trusting God with them. For example money. If you have big money problems, the Word says, "Don't worry about anything but pray about everything." Give it over to Him.
I shared last week that I felt like the Lord was prompting me to go pray for a sick man that I did not know. My fear kept me from doing that. Fear of looking silly. Fear that I only thought I heard God. Fear that they would be insulted. Fear... it's a bad spirit. And it's one of the main ways the enemy uses to paralyze us from doing the right thing.

Busy

Oh Jesus, we come into this world alone and we leave alone. It really is just You and me... I do long to spend more time with You, because it gives me great joy. This time of year gets so busy, that we forget that You are the reason for the season. It's like planning and giving a wedding; we get so wrapped up in all of the details, that we forget that it should be about the love and the time this couple is about to commit to. And it's like being pregnant - the mom-to-be is so concentrated on the delivery, that she's not thinking about when the baby arrives. And so it is with the time leading up to Christmas. So much shopping. So much decorating. So many Christmas parties. So many school concerts. So many school parties. So much baking. So much gathering of families. And yet.... all You want, Jesus, is to spend time with us. You want to help us tell others about how much You love them. And that's what I want to. I love You, sweet Jesus.

Time

Sometimes, like today, this world gets to be too much for me.... The sadness takes over and I don't want to play any more. The enemy has been attacking my family and he wants me to quit. He's making it real tempting. But I can't. No, there is work to be done, and no matter what, I will go on, with God's help. It seems the news is so depressing the past couple of years, that I don't even want to know what's going on. They keep saying we are teetering on the brink of disaster. And there's not a thing I can do about it but pray. Even non-Christians can sense that the world is in free fall. And even they can see the set up for the anti-Christ. Look around, the scene is being set for the end times, and sooner than later. All of the Biblical prophecies have taken place that have to before the rapture can happen, so it can be at any moment. And His word tells us to be working until He comes. So I will. And if the rapture happens tonight, I will be sad for all of my unsaved friends and family, because God gives everyone a chance. I think the people on earth right now have an advantage, because even the lay person's eye can see us like we're on the Titanic. It's just a question of time, how much time do we have?

And so I say, repent. Turn away from your sins. Tell God you agree that you're a sinner, and you accept His gift of salvation - that when Jesus died on the cross for our sins, He took our punishment for us. Ask Him to "take the wheel" and let Him be in the driver's seat, not you.
And then don't do those bad things any more.
See you in heaven...

Sadness

Yesterday a friend of mine posted on Facebook that his 27 year old friend was in the hospital in the town I work in with pneumonia. He was asking for prayer for this great 'kid' whom he worked with often. I debated about going to the hospital to pray for him, but thought he's probably really sick and I don't even know him. I had a bad feeling about it last night, and at midnight was praying for him, but couldn't shake the feeling.

This morning, my friend posted on Facebook that he had died.
Never again will I not follow the Holy Spirit's prompting to go pray when I get the nudge...

Reason for the Season

I'm trying not to get caught up in the commercial part of Christmas this year. I'm concentrating on the 'Reason for the Season,' -- Jesus! I do love the way people are nicer this time of year, and there is Good Will and giving and kindness. Jesus Christ made such an impact on this earth, that the world takes a day to celebrate His birth and ultimate death, since He died on the cross for our sins to take our punishment. And when we accept His gift of salvation - it is spiritual healing, mental healing and physical healing. It's not just that your spirit is healed - so is your mind and body. "By the stripes of Jesus, we were healed." You can have the abundant life on this earth!

Joy to the World!!

Just remember, we don't know what the future holds, but we know who holds the future.

God promises to take care of our needs, and that He will always be with us.
He says He will give us peace that passes all understanding.

One day

Would love to share something that happened at church a week ago on Thanksgiving weekend.... in our Spirit-filled church, when people feel like God wants them to share, they come up to the front of the church between praise songs. Lots of people were sharing, and God was definitely moving. People share testimonies, spiritual dreams, prophecies and words of knowlege. It was very poignant and even more special than usual. After the pastor's sermon, he often will point at someone and tell them what God has told him about them, spiritually speaking.

We had a visitor in the back, an attractive woman, middle aged whom he pointed to. He started telling her things that God had told him. She remained poker faced, which is unusual, as most start crying or are very moved. After several minutes, pastor said, "is this right?" And she started walking forward. He prayed for her, and then she said she wanted to share something and went to the microphone.
She relayed her story - that she had been married to a wonderful Christian man for 33 years, and that this past July, only 4 months earlier, they were walking and holding hands at the mall, and he said that sometimes God takes people very quickly. He was in the oil and gas business in West Texas, and had told her if he ever died at work, that a company truck would come to their house with 3 men. Two days later, she said the morning felt strange. After her husband left for work, she was reading the Bible and kept coming to scriptures about death. She got a bad feeling and kept trying to call him. He always answered his cell phone, but not today. She started pacing and worrying and watching the window. She watched the company truck pull up, and begged God, no, no, not her husband. As they got out the of truck, she counted 1-2-3 men and she ran out to meet them. He had been killed an hour after he left home in his company vehicle. Someone ran a stop sign going very fast, and broad-sided him. He was killed instantly. As she told the story, she cried, and we all cried. She talked about how lost she is without him, and could hardly get out of bed these 4 months. Pastor asked that some of the women of the church come up and pray with her. Almost all women went forward, and prayed and prayed. She was told that God would be her husband, as the Word says, and many other comforting things.
She called pastor this week to tell him to tell our church that God had used us to completely change her life. She said before that day, she woke up every day saying she was one step closer to dying and seeing her husband. But after that day, she was renewed and says, "What can I do for You today Lord?" You see, God brought her to our church that day to speak through us to tell her how much He loves her and that He still has plans for her. And that He will be with her and give her peace. Oh, God is an awesome, loving Father. And He has no favorites; He loves you just the same...

Christmas Food Court Flash Mob, Hallelujah Chorus - Must See!
